Firstly let me give out my backhand compliments to this place. It is a good place to go if you feel, like me, slightly intimidated by most clubs. It is most definitely not a hostile place to go, I guess the reasons are immediately obvious, the type of people who go are decent and hold compassion due to their moderately open minds. I've barely ever seen a fight here.
Also, the place has enough room and levels to roam around and escape the tediousness of it all - it kind of breaks up the ennui. All in all you can spend a few hours here feeling at ease.
What is mind numbingly apparent though, is the sort of facade that takes place here, it has become a sham. It is New Labours idea of an alternative night out. It might be sickening of me to say 'When I were a lad...' being only 28, but in 10 years I've seen a tangible decline from L2 to Krazy House. Much like there has been a dramatic decline with Quiggins to Grand Central. The problem? There is no subculture anymore. Culture itself is a packaged tour around Liverpool. It lacks the cutting edge of Manchester, there is no underground, there is nothing vaunting, there is nothing for the sensitive outsider. Krazy House no longer plays an alternative setlist, it plays an 'alternative music' setlist, which is something entirely different.
The kids in Krazy House look like Topshop manikins. Each cluster of people are branded in their own high street produced fashions and vacuous ideals. They'll conceitedly dismiss 'chavs' and declare themselves individuals, but only line the pockets of 'the men in suits' ever more, because they have it all worked out, branding the ones who bah slightly louder, with their own sheeps clothing. The 'outsider' has been squeezed out of this place. Very few real alternative or cultural people walk around, bar the odd few on Level 1, kudos to them.
Most likely you will see kids in Led Zepplin, Rolling Stones t-shirts, who can't name an album, dancing to mainstream metal on level 1, mainstream indie/teen indie level 2, and substandard pop music which remarkably repeats the same songs at least twice a night! Then you have the irony that each level will play Gwen Steffani and each level will play those nauseous RATM and Kins of Leon songs twice in the same set.
This is not a place for anybody who ever listened to John Peel, or anybody really over the age of 15, or anybody who has read a book or has any sense of integrity. I could definitely put up with the level of grime in this place, if the music was equally as gritty, but as the music is Blink 182, it only compounds the problem. Watch on as for the hundredth time some fool with false attitude slings their arm in the air pointing to the ceiling as 'Sex is on fire' strikes it's first chord. Then sulk further as Bon Jovi follows and a hurd of sadsacks invade the floor.
This review will of course be treated as bitter, and I will be called a killjoy, but life is a serious business, and I want a soundtrack to suit it. What we have currently is pretense, artificial happiness but unconcious compliance to the norm. May I offer suggestions? The Fall, Joy Division, Any punk from 75-80! Any old skool hip hop! Electronic music like Aphex Twin or Squarepusher. Anything alternative currently that does not make MTV what about Crystal Castles? Marnie Stern, Abe Vigoda? Surprise us DJs, throw in a few rare tracks, something different from your very limited selection, a different setlist from the other 52 weeks of the year! ha, its not difficult, earn your crust, dive for pearls! And people, don't fall in line and listen to anything, you cannot be that empty headed that you will dance to anything? surely! SO don your angels wings and rabbits ears and stripey cardigans. Come from the salon with your lovely hairstyle and experience a night in Krazy House, or go to the neighbouring club and experience the same people, who may have at least come from the gutter.

3 Floors, 1st floor is usually heavy rock metal music, 2nd floor is usually Indie music, 3rd floor is anything.
The K is ridiculously warm on K3, K2 is a little more cooler, the drinks are hot when you buy them depending on the time you get them, the price of entry goes up a lot from Free too £5 to £7.
The atmosphre is that of nobody cares really, you forget your warm drink and the fact that under your arms is pouring with sweat, you get carried away in the music and the dark colors and go Krazy.
I've been there a few times and the DJ setlist is repeitive after a while, I could tell you what song would be next easily but the music is okay, playing mainly big hits and whatever really.
The people in there rage from your typical chav to your mosher to your goth. K3 is full of chavs and The K has lost some of its appeal, Guranteed fight every week in there so get your popcorn ready!
If your after a laugh and some fun head to The K its a memorable night out.

Krazyhouse is absolutely amazing. I went there on Rock night which is every Friday I believe. 5 floors, yes 5 floors 3 of them being clubs and 2 being exclusive bars but one payment gives access to all. On a Friday the bottom one was Indie rock tunes, the 3rd was heavy metal, metal and hardcore and the top level was industrial, and dance-rock tunes. The bars in between sold bottles at 1.50 each even on alcopops and all shots at 1.20 . I had the sambuca and the amazing evening. It can turn into a bit of a maze but I thought it was the best place in the whole of Liverpool for rock!

yes, everybody says the krazyhouse is dirty, skanky, smelly, full of kids, emos..the list goes on, and to an extent it is!However, the krazyhouse has a great athmosphere and energy that once you are inside, those things dont matter, you are captivated by the excitement and which ever floor you chose K1, K2 or K3, there is a variety of music for everybody!the drinks are also cheap! its the place to go if you want a good time, dont be stuck up, yes there is a mysterious black substance on the floor that always ends up all over your arms and legs, but thats why you dont sit on the floor!Dance on the picnic benches, giant lego, or pose by the clock, play pool, and ignore the snobs who are too good to go there, and have a good time!
