"The egg cafe is a little gem hidden up winding stairs on the 2nd floor of a building in newington, liverpool city centre. It has a very relaxed hippy like atmosphere and anyone and everyone fits in.

The food is first class vegetarian/vegan and the portions are huge. The prices are very good. You can get a 3 course meal with tea/coffee for a set price of £8.95 but to be honest it would proberbly be too much to eat.You can take your own alcohol of a night and you will only be charged £1 corkage.

This place is great. Try it and see. You will go back again and again"

"If youíre out and about in Liverpool and looking for an interesting meal, perhaps food that didnít try to resist capture, then try EggSpace a vegetarian/vegan caf√© with a difference.

Not only does this café present you with stunning panoramic views of the city, coupled with the warm and bohemian ambiance that greets you on first arrival. It also has the interesting concept of doubling up as an independent gallery space designed to showcase the work of up and coming new artists.

Egg offers freshly prepared wholesome food that even Jamie Oliver would approve of, coupled with amazing value for money Ė the likes of which Iíve never seen! I doubt you will find anything on the menu priced over £5 and even a simple order of cheese on toast comes with pasta, cous-cous, salad and chick peas.

The seating arrangements are designed to promote the lost art of conversation. Mostly filled with long tables its ideal for large groups of friends but also presents the opportunity to meet new and interesting people Ė most of who are submerged in Liverpoolís thriving Art, music and student scene. Itís also family friendly and welcomes young children. However you may struggle getting push chairs up the winding staircase to the second floor where Egg is situated, this of course means there is currently no disabled access either

Open until 10.30pm every day except Sunday, itís also a great choice for an evening meal. No alcohol can be purchased in the caf√©, but youíre welcome to bring a bottle of wine and for the small fee of £1 the staff will open it and provide you with glasses. The caf√© takes on a slightly different vibe in the evenings, candles on every table and the soft, romantic sounds of Jazz or acoustic guitar (think, Tori Amos, David Gray, Martha Wainwright and youíve got the right idea) can be heard playing in the background.

Egg is the kind of place that serves to feed more than just your stomach your senses will also be full!!!"
