"Portions were very small, food was served cold, and staff could not care less. Pathetic."

"Just returned from a weekend in Liverpool and the worst meal I have ever eaten. The portions were tiny, cold and unpleasant. When I sent it back the serving staff were rude and the replacement dish was the same food rearranged on the plate.
When I asked to speak to the manager I was told that she was too busy.
The bill, which I initially refused to pay but was forced to by a burly waiter, was over £40 for two people and did not include wine. Very expensive for something so poor, a waste of money and time and we shall not be repeated. "

"Lovely setting. The portions were small and the food not always up to scratch - watery mash for example.
Very disappointing and overpriced for the menu offered.
I felt I ought to complain but its difficult to do so when its a family occasion."

"Starter acceptable but not impressive. Main course cold and covered in inedible gravy, limited menu and poor service. Staff unsympathetic to complaints. This was a staggeringly bad experience, which spoiled a birthday celebration.
In contrast Owens on Queens drive was the venue for the previous evenings birthday celebrations proper and catered faultlessly for 14 people. I will certainly only be frequenting one of these restaurants in future! "

"Very disapointing. Cold food small portions. Meals returned to kitchen, returned re-arranged on plate and even colder. Complaints to serving staff fell on deaf ears.
If you like British Rail style food circa 1970 you will enjoy this, but not the price. Spoilt what should have been a very special family event.
Would not reccommend."

"Spoiled a family event with cold food, sent back and returned colder - small portions, waiting staff found silence more comfortable when negative comment made about the food - someone else was paying so could not make too much of a fuss, but I would be very reluctant to recommend it."

"Food decent, but not worth the price. Live pianist: please, please, please can you get the piano tuned! No matter how good a player you are, an out of tune piano (and this REALLY was out of tune) is akin to the sound of a cat being dragged down a blackboard. "

"Charming Restaurant, warm and friendly atmosphere, we had a table for 10 people on a busy saturday night and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Food was outstanding, waiting on staff very professional and live music all evening. Will definately be going back."

""Disappointed. No Christmas menu in December. Limited choice of starters. Disappointing quantity of food didn't match the price. Service time between delivery of first meal to party of 8 and delivery of vegetables - at least 10 minutes. Very expensive for the quality and quantity provided. Spoilt a special Christmas occasion.""

""Cold, poor service not the Liverpool welcome we hoped for food nothing to write home about, very small portions. Don't think it will be around much longer.""

""Opened September 2003, hidden away in the heart of Woolton Village. We had tried on a few occasions to book, but to no avail always full! We let Valentines Night pass us by and decided it may be safe enough to take a chance on the Sunday evening. Success a table was free, serving Sunday lunches only. The decor was warm and relaxing, the service good once in first gear, the food worth waiting for! Everything fresh, cooked to perfection. Impressed - very!""
